“37) In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let Him come to me, and drink.
38) He that believes on Me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.
39) (But this spoke He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10)
“Итак, доколе есть время, будем делать добро всем, а наипаче своим по вере.” (Галатам 6:10)
“Let us strive, every year we live, to become more deeply acquainted with Scripture. Let us study it, search into it, dig into it, meditate on it, until it dwell in us richly. (Coloss. 2:16.)
In particular, let us labor to make ourselves familiar with those parts of the Bible which, like the book of Psalms, describe the experience of the saints of old. We shall find it most helpful to us in all our approaches to God.
It will supply us with the best and most suitable language both for the expression of our wants and thanksgivings. Such knowledge of the Bible can doubtless never be attained without regular, daily study.
But the time spent on such study is never misspent. It will bear fruit after many days.”
Psalm 68:4 “Sing unto God, sing praises to His name! Extol Him that rideth upon the heavens by His name Jehovah*; and rejoice before Him.“ [*JAH in KJV] … Псалтирь 67:5 “Пойте Богу нашему, пойте имени Его, превозносите Шествующего на небесах; имя Ему: Господь, и радуйтесь пред лицем Его.“ … Псалми 68:5 “Співайте Богові, виспівуйте Йменню Його, рівняйте дорогу Тому, Хто їде на хмарах, Господь Йому Ймення, та перед Ним веселіться!“
“It is an ill sign when a man dares not look a Scripture in the face, and an evidence of brazen impudence when he tries to make it mean something less condemnatory of his sins, and endeavours to prove it to be less sweeping in its demands.” – Charles H. Spurgeon
