“The spirit of self-righteousness is the spirit of Laodicea.
This self-righteousness blinds us to our true condition.
But God calls us “Wretched one”. This is used only one other time in the New Testament where it pictures a condemned man chained to a corpse and dragging the dead body around with him in Romans 7:24.
Self-exaltation and exaltation of Christ cannot occupy the same man. I cannot exalt myself and my ministry, bathing in my own self-righteousness and assume God is getting the Glory. It is either His righteousness or ours.”
